Spread the word : Jean-Luc Moudenc – whose taunts on the opposing “watermelons” had hit the headlines at the Municipal 2020 -, is not totally allergic to environmentalists.
” Yes, Yannick Jadot, let’s reduce the VAT on organic products! This is the title of a singular post published on mayor’s blog (LR) of Toulouse, which he reactivated on Wednesday March 2, 2022, after three years of sleep, and where he resumes on his own a strong commitment from the program of the EELV presidential candidate: reduce VAT on organic products.
“A measure that I support without reservation”
Jean-Luc Moudenc does not beat around the bush: “It is a measure that I support without reservation”. This idea from Jadot, which “concerns both gastronomy and purchasing power”, allows, according to the Toulouse elected official, to “fight against the food divide scandal between those who have the means to eat healthy foods and those who do not.
And she would also have “a great virtue: that of contributing to revitalize our place of production at a time when organic is marking time”. Because Jean-Luc Moudenc believes that it “is urgent to relocate”, even though “Europe is sick of its dependence on supplies from the rest of the world”. The war in Ukraine again revealed this problem, already glaring with the Covid crisis.
“Bravo to Yannick Jadot” chants Jean-Luc Moudenc
Considering “that in Toulouse, we have already reinforced the quality on the plates”, Jean-Luc Moudenc points out that “we are aiming to go from 47 to 55% of labeled local products and to 30% organic products in our canteens, well beyond what is provided for by law”. Where, let us remember, his rival Antoine Maurice promised the Municipal 2020 to establish “100% organic and local meals” in the canteens, and the possibility of having a vegetarian meal every day.
The mayor of the fourth largest city in France ended with a tribute to his green opponents at the Capitol : “Congratulations to Yannick Jadot for this proposal. I hope that the other candidates will take it up or be inspired by it”.
He will take a position on the proposals of all the candidates
That said, Jean-Luc Moudenc will not change tack anytime soon… And will (a priori) not attend the outdoor meeting that Yannick Jadot will hold under his windows, in Square De Gaulle, on March 16th. But if he recalls that he supports “the candidacy of Valérie Pécresse” (LR) for the Presidential, the city councilor intends to say “yes to good ideas” each other throughout the race for the Élysée.
“When I highlight good ideas, it doesn’t matter what part of the political spectrum they come from. I remain a free mayor, who speaks without sectarianism.”
Jean-Luc Moudenc, who tackles in passingand the “few anti-traditional leftists” who attacked the “Communist candidate Roussel” after his ode to gastronomy, therefore intends to give his opinion on the programs. He announces: “In the weeks to come, I will express myself on various measures proposed by the presidential candidates”. The “good ideas” that he will flush out from Éric Zemmour, or even from Jean-Luc Mélenchon, will be revealed up close…
