to give Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova the status of EU candidate countries
MEP Dan Nica attended the European Parliament’s special plenary session on the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine caused by the invasion of the Russian Federation. The Romanian Social Democrat spoke about the crisis in Ukraine.
“We have all seen how unjustified aggression by the Russian Federation in Ukraine has caused a major humanitarian catastrophe. Today, thousands and tens of thousands of elderly women seeking to save themselves, border crossings are crowded with these people, who have the right to civilized life and the right to survive. The Romanians mobilized, the Government, the local authorities and got me Romanians who come and help with food and shelter. The European Commissioner for Home Affairs was in Romania yesterday and saw what an absolutely deplorable condition they had to endure, “said Dan Nica.
Nica also called on European leaders to accelerate the European integration of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.
“We must all fight to give Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova the status of EU candidate countries,” said Dan Nica.
Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, signed a document on Monday, formally calling for his country’s EU integration.
