Prague: The City Hall, the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague and Charles University have agreed to cooperate
The memorandum of cooperation between the capital city of Prague and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague was signed by Councilor Vít Šimral (Pirates), who is in charge of education, and the rector of the school, Jindřich Vybíral. “UMPRUM is with its industrial design and visualizations of industrial products recognized not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad. Our cooperation has been informal now, now it will finally be formalized, “said the councilor at the profit conference.
UMPRUM has long cooperated with private companies, industrial companies and, of course, municipalities and cities. Prague has now come among them. “Our students need a public space, where they will be able to develop their creative ideas without it. Cooperation with the application sphere is key for us, “said Rector Jindřich Vybíral.
The city together with the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague wants to cooperate the most within the Living zone project. “This project aims to improve the environment in the city. Our students will have the task of designing, for example, sanitary facilities in the streets of Prague, security barriers or so-called thermal islands, which will help in the fight against the climate crisis, “the rector explained, recalling that the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design is one of the 100 best art schools in the world and the only post-communist country in this ranking.
Memorandum with FF UK
The second memorandum was signed by the Prague leadership with the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, specifically with the Department of Social Work. The aim is to ensure the best possible conditions for linking practice and academic teaching and social research.
“Unfortunately, it is not common in the social field, to have faculty workplaces that combine practice with university teaching and researchsuch as in healthcare or education. I believe that the output of cooperation with academic partners could be just such long-term partnerships in the form of excellent facilities with the status of faculty workplaces, “said Councilor for Social Affairs Milena Johnová (Prague Sobě).
