Major repair D1 near Prague. Metrostav Infrastructure came up with the award
As for the D1, the ŘSD also intends to start expanding the motorway around Brno to six lanes this year in the second half of the year.
The tender for a major overhaul of the D1 motorway between exits 15 (Všechromy) and 21 (Mirošovice) is in the final. The Directorate of Roads and Motorways (ŘSD) received seven bids, the most advantageous of which was submitted by Metrostav Infrastructure. It is willing to repair less than five kilometers of the highway for 376.2 million crowns, which is 94 percent of the estimated price. The company offered the fastest execution of work, it should be 300 from the start.
The plan is to repair the entire width of the road, including rehabilitation and repairs of highway bridges, drainage, barriers, renewal of traffic signs and modifications of unpaved curbs. This is the first major reconstruction on the D1 after the end of the so-called modernization between Mirošovice and Kývalka last autumn. The work should start in June and will not do without traffic restrictions, which will be specified by ŘSD.
Part of the section, specifically between the 17th and 18th kilometers, was already being repaired in 2018. At that time, there was a small partial closure of the motorway in the right lane and the curb was strengthened. The traffic in the direction to Prague was conducted for two weeks in two temporary lanes. Upcoming work will be much larger.
As for the D1, the ŘSD also intends to start expanding the motorway around Brno to six lanes this year in the second half of the year. The work will cover about thirty kilometers, the road workers want to start between kilometers 194 and 196, ie between the intersections with the road to Vienna and the D2 motorway. In total, the work will take about eight years.
