Corso del Cai di Siena on the via ferrata
SIENA. The Cai (Italian Alpine Club) of Siena organizes a course, from 25 March to 29 May, to learn how to tackle the “via ferrata”, that is, routes on rock equipped with metal ropes, steps and holds that guarantee safe trekking. The course is aimed at members of the CAI who have already gained theoretical experience in excursions on practical-itineraries on via ferrata with the aim of spreading their knowledge and respect, conscious and in knowledge attendance.
There are three theoretical lessons. The first is introductory on how the via ferratas are built and how to travel them safely. Roadside insurance and individual safety devices will be the theme of the second lesson. While in the concluding lesson the theme of progression will come and the dangers that can arise when traveling along a viaferrata.Three exits into the environment are intended for the practical application of what has been learned and for the management of emergencies.
