MashUp Web is a company based in Rouen. It offers solutions and services for publishers and advertisers on the web. At its head, Matthieu Gudefin, a Rouennais attached to his territory.
For Matthieu Gudefin, it all started in 2009, with the creation of an advertising agency using mobile phones. A spirit of initiative, developed in particular in the United States, where he lived, which pushed him to create MashUp Web, a few years later, in 2015. A more “general public” positioning. The startup offers an aggregation of news, sports or people info. Since 2019, MashUp Web has refined its solutions and also allows professionals to manage their social networks with a tool that makes life easier.
“We work with local media like “Objectif Gard” or “Lyon Capitale” and big groups like Reworld Media who offer titles like “Grazia”, ”Biba” or “Auto-Plus”. also addresses e-commerce platforms, communities or associations”, informs Matthieu Gudefin. The tools offered are made to meet the needs of these large groups, but also for the neighborhood bakery. It’s all about scale, the adaptive solution.
The activity has been relocated to Rouen: “It’s 100% “made in Normandy”, supports Matthieu Gudefin, there is not a line of code produced abroad, that’s what stand out from the competition”.
The five-person team meets regularly at the Seine Innovation Digital Canteen. MashUp Web also welcomes interns from local major schools.
The next big challenge for the Rouen brand? Meet the expectations of digital communication agencies, many of which manage the social networks of companies, businesses or large associations. “We are also in the test phase with local agencies. The tool is generalist but it meets new expectations”, confirms the manager.
On a personal level, Matthieu Gudefin is a lover of FC Rouen. Involved in the Culs Rouges collective, he recently participated in the acquisition of a medal that belonged to a Diable Rouge professional champion of France in 1945. But that’s another story…
