Csaba Dömötör reminded Kossuth Rádió’s Sunday newspaper that left-wing leaders had suggested that we send weapons and soldiers to the battlefield, and Péter Márki-Zay repeated this to a German newspaper.
The state put it this way: In such a situation, we have to fly the Hungarian flag as secretary. The most important goal is to ensure the security of Hungary and the Hungarian people.
This was not the only irresponsible action from the left, as they embarked on a sham campaign that Hungary would block sanctions against Russia. This has since been refuted at home and abroad, but left-wing leaders have not bothered to correct themselves.
According to Csaba Dömötör, the left should refrain from such irresponsible statements because they endanger Transcarpathian Hungarians and expose them to possible atrocities. The government side is asking the left to take this into account.
“No partisan considerations or campaign aspects can be more important than the security of Hungarians”
– issued by the Secretary of State.
Those who go against the security of the country in such times cannot be expected in better times either.
The army has strengthened border protection and is providing assistance in humanitarian operations. From the very first days, exemplary cooperation has developed, donations are being sent, and the government is trying to coordinate all such initiatives. But we are not only helping those who come to us, but also those who have stayed in Ukraine, which is why the Bridge for Transcarpathia initiative is being launched. On the helpline 1357, they can provide support for HUF 500 per call.
Peace of Szijjártó Péter offered Budapest as a venue for negotiations, which shows that peace is an important and primary interest for Hungary. Hungary is always and everywhere on the side of peace, the Secretary of State concluded.
