Nuclear fusion: Portugal to train experts in green energy
Nuclear fusion was consulted as a solution for the production of green energy, without carbon dioxide treatment. Recently, in England, it was possible to generate 59 megajoules of energy through nuclear fusion what to offer to several reinforce this hypothesis.
Portugal already plays an important role in addressing this issue with a collaborative project by ISQ, in the world’s largest nuclear fusion experimental project, ITER. This expression won the training contract in 2018 and appears first with a reinforcement after the ISQ to have a worthless €1.6 million international contract to train experts in “green energy”.
No limit of this contract with the European Fusion Energy Development Agency (F4E)), ISQ will train technicians located in Spain, France, Germany and Germany.
“This will last for three years of training and will manage the plans of more than 600 ITER and F4E technicians in the most diverse areas, aiming at a permanent update of technical skills, soft skills and management (…) digital formats , online live training and face-to-face training, with a practical and hands-on component”, explains Margarida Segard, ISQ Academy Director, in a press release.
ISQ’s collaboration on ITER
The ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) aims to build the first experimental nuclear fusion reactor, capable of generating a positive energy return, demonstrating the scientific and technical feasibility of the nuclear unit as a source of clean energy.
ISQ collaborates with F4E by performing service delivery in such a wide scope: control training technology, testing, non-destructive control development, process engineering, base and supporting engineering processes (design and support) analysis ). In the area of quality assurance and manufacturing control, ISQ is F4E’s reference partner in the form of a contract that assigns responsibility for monitoring the manufacturing of components supplied by the EU.
About ISQ
ISQ is an entity, which, with a press release, delivers value through integrated and independent solutions of engineering services, private agreements, trials, tests and training. It is present in 4 countries and has 7 offices in Portugal, with clients in risk reduction, operational performance improvement and profitability increase.
The development is supported by a network of Group companies, a set of accredited laboratories and multidisciplinary equipment that help customers adjust their business objectives with an adjustment and fulfillment of goals in the areas of quality, safety, asset management and responsibility. environmental and social.
