Pain Clinic Staff Released After Maltese Police Arrest and Arrest of Cannabis
The staff of The Pain Clinic have been released from police custody following their arrest in connection with the importation and trafficking of cannabis.
Lovin Malta has previously reported that several workers were taken into custody following a raid on The Pain Clinic in Paola in an operation led by the Anti-Drug Squad. Their phones were removed and they were advised to contact their attorneys.
All staff were questioned by police. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
In their own words, The Pain Clinic “provides innovative and alternative options for managing chronic pain and other illnesses that have not responded to conventional medication” and has become a prominent clinic providing options such as medical cannabis to patients.
The move came just months after recreational cannabis was effectively legalized by the government, a few years after medical cannabis was introduced.
Back in November 2021, the government also clarified that the island will be completely legalize CBD oil and other cannabis-derived products once the full December cannabis reform bill is enacted.
