Toulouse’s Mouss and Hakim will present their album “Darons de la Garonne” during a mini concert at FNAC Toulouse on Friday February 25th.
Darons de la Garonne is the new album of the brothers of Zebda composed on unpublished poems by Claude Nougaro. the death of Claude Nougaro in March 2004, there have been many attempts to set unpublished texts by the poet to music.
Originally, there is a gift: seven texts including six unpublished or unfinished named by Hélène Bignon, sister of Claude Nougaro, to the restless brothers of Zebda. “They emanate a playfulness that makes you want to dance. What is touching is that they are brothers, and that their love is felt. Claude was very touched by brotherly love. It’s a theme that meant a lot to him. So I chose heterogeneous and funny texts for them, which suit them very well”.
The Darons de la Garonne project is rooted in the fraternity of the suburbs (Claude Nougaro, Mouss and Hakim grew up 40 years apart in the same Minimes district), is nourished by a common history (Nougaro wrote to them in 2002 the text Boots of the suburbs), and flourishes in an artistic creation project that goes far beyond the framework of the tribute. The melodies of Darons de la Garonne are thus like family tunes where, among new sounds and unheard of words, a pinch of tiles that have disappeared emerge.
See you this Friday, February 25 at 5:30 p.m. at FNAC Toulouse.
