Maltese iGaming Expert Commends PN Proposal
Maltese iGaming expert welcomes PN leader Bernard Grech’s promise to invest in metaverse regulation as part of a € 1 billion package.
“I like the concept of metaverse … it may sound like a fantasy but it’s real and it already exists,” said Trevor Degiorgio, the managing director of Greentube Malta, during a PN rally in St Julian’s tonight.
Degiorgio noted that Manchester City is building a virtual replica of the Etihad Stadium in metaverse while McDonald’s has applied for ten metaverse-related patents that will allow people to enter a virtual restaurant and have food delivered to them in person.
“It’s the union of the real and digital world, and part of our reality in the future will be on the metaverse,” he said.
“It simply came to our notice then. Malta has some of the best iGaming companies in the world and employs hundreds, if not thousands, of people. That is why the PN is dreaming of metaverse and wants to invest in it by regularizing it. “
“Malta is good at regulating industries – we were a world leader in financial services regulation before 2013 and we are a world leader in ship registration.”
Do you think that part of our future will be on the metaverse?
