Raisi to Macron, pressure on Iran undermines the nuclear deal
“The pressure or political demands against the during the talks in Vienna to restore the nuclear deal, aim to keep the lever on Tehran and weaken the prospect of reaching an agreement”.
This was stated by the Iranian president, Ebrahim Raisi, in a telephone conversation with his French colleague, Emmanuel Macron.
“Any agreement in Vienna should include the lifting of sanctions, the provision of credible guarantees and the blocking of political questions and requests,” said Raisi, quoted by the IRNA agency.
And he added: “The essential question is to reach an agreement that respects the interests of Iran.”
Raisi therefore rejected “the lies of some countries” about peaceful nuclear activities “and said that everyone should be wary of enemy seditions.
Macron, for his part, said that there have been good developments in the Vienna talks and expressed the hope that they will soon bear fruit.
