On the Central Bohemian slopes, skiers are warming up. Where to go?
Monínec on the border of the districts of Příbram and Benešov, belonging to the town of Sedlec-Prčice (among lovers of active movement also famous as the destination of the traditional and still popular long-distance march), is sometimes referred to as a “mountain resort outside the mountains”. It suits fans of sledding and bobsledding, as well as downhill skiing and snowboarding.
In addition to the lifts, there is also a cable car – which I am discussing a week ago due to a technical problem, when firefighters even arrived ready to rescue passengers, but they were not needed and the local staff managed on their own.
The cable car in Monínec: about a hundred skiers were in danger
There are also two ski schools. Evening skiing is also popular here. Daily ski passes cost CZK 735, for a child or senior CZK 550 – with discounts when buying on the e-shop; however, tariffs from two o’clock are also available, as well as family tariffs for various combinations of the number of adults and children. Visitors used to skiing in the Czech mountains in Monínec will enjoy the arrival: there are plenty of parking spaces, which certainly does not have to be a matter of course elsewhere.
In Choutoun without sledding
The complex boasts convenient free parking and operation of the main lifts until 9 pm Chotouň near Jílové near Prague in Prague-west. There is also an area for small skiers with a ski lift for children and there is now a 50-meter conveyor belt available for the little ones. In addition to other expected services, which can be described as words from refreshments to the toilet, there is also a ski and snowboard school, ski and snowboard rental and service.
The full price of the ski pass is CZK 430 for five hours, the discounted price (which applies to children up to 140 cm, seniors from the age of 65 and people with a disability card) is CZK 380; however, those interested can pay for skiing from an hour. He can also choose to pay not according to time, but for the number of rides, when tickets are graded from five to thirty runs. It is still necessary to prepare a refundable deposit on the chip card for each person without whom the turnstile cannot be passed. And it is necessary to have cash with you: it is not possible to pay by card (which must also be understood for NFC payments by phone, watch or ring).
It is also important to remember that tobogganing and bobsledding are prohibited here.
Skiing in the Lad region
A little busier I believe that this place is more for less demanding skiers and families with children, it can be on days off in the ski arena Šibeniční vrch in Mnichovice in Prague-East, where they also report excellent conditions. At least this applies to skiers who are served by the Bobeš ski lift and the Mikeš children’s rope in the artificially snow-covered area. Yes, in the Lad region, the Ladov tradition is associated with such a name. Pašík at the bobsled slope, which relies on natural snow, is now out of order. For fans of winter sports, a ski school and refreshments can be installed here.
Firefighters set off again due to the wind. In the Benešov region, a train crashed into a tree
Not only the operating hours, but also the prices for using the lifts differ for individual days of the week. For example, a full-day ride on Saturday (10–21 hours) and Sunday (10–17 hours) will cost CZK 400, on Monday (15–19 hours) it will be CZK 300; however, it is possible to choose a shorter period of time from two hours or an individual ride on the Bobe side, which costs CZK 50. They do not accept credit cards here either, and the complex’s website warns that the nearest ATM is on the square. One hundred cars can park right next to the complex, but you can also travel by public transport without any problems.
