Tips for a weekend in Prague: enjoy the carnival festivities or let yourself be invited for a walk through Prague
Carnival
Prague will come to life with carnival festivities and colorful parades. Where exactly are you going this weekend?
SATURDAY, February 19
Devil’s carnival – at 2 pm, a procession from the Devil’s Municipal House sets out. The event is organized by KC Vlna, where there will be an open café and stalls with carnival specialties.
Suchdol Carnival – starts at 1 pm on Suchdolské náměstí, an hour later the procession starts in the direction of M. Alš Elementary School, Brandejs Farm and for the final feast in the Starosuchdolská restaurant.
Radotín Carnival – Masquerades will gather at Fajnový dvor of the Koruna Cultural Community Center at 1 p.m. They set out for the town hall and back half an hour later. The atmosphere is completed by live music and killer delicacies.
Kbel Carnival – you will arrive at Kbely Central Park at 1 pm, in addition to the parade, another program is prepared for all participants.
Carnival in the archeopark – in the Liboc Archaeological Park will start the next season with this traditional holiday. Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., everything from soup to crush and carnival will be prepared for you to enjoy in a stylish environment.
Carnival afternoon in KC Vozovna – in Žižkov you also have the opportunity to taste specialties, between 12 and 18 o’clock come to share your memories and recipes or experiences from what the Shrovetide celebrations looked like before.
Carnival feast on Heřmaňák – The farmers’ market on Řezáčová náměstí is added to the slaughter feasts. Breakfast, greaves, pâtés, soup, this is just a small list of what you can taste here. Arrive between 9 and 13 o’clock.
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 20
Ctěnický carnival – You can come to the Ctěnice Chateau Complex between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Carnival in the Atrium in Žižkov – The celebration of the carnival in the Atrium cultural center begins at 2 pm, the program includes the production of horse masks, an accordion player, an entertaining band about masks and, of course, lots of goodies.
International Day of Guides
Traditional action organized under the auspices of the Association of Guides of the Czech Republic will offer free tours of Prague. Are you interested? Just arrive at 2 pm on Malostranské Square. This year’s theme is Kampa and Malá Strana. Due to the pandemic situation, there will be no walks with entrances to the monuments. E.g. Wallenstein Palace or Church of St. The participants will see Mikuláš only from the outside.
