DPP: Prague is canceling some preventive anti-epidemic measures in public transport, it will strengthen metro traffic on weekends

Due to the retreat of the covid-19 pandemic and the dismantling of emergency measures, the capital m Prague, Dopravní podnik hl. m of Prague (DPP) and ROPID after consultation with the Hygienic Station of Prague decided to cancel some preventive anti-epidemic measures on bus and tram lines from Monday, February 21, 2022.
Passengers will be able to enter the front door again or use the first row of seats. The obligation to have the mouth and nose covered by a respirator or nanotowder in public transport remains valid.
From Monday, February 21, 2022, the following will be canceled from the morning departure:
- Prohibition of boarding through the front door on all city bus lines and on tram lines operated by older types of vehicles.
- Strapping the space of the first row of seats on city and suburban bus lines, as well as the strapping of the front door space on older types of trams.

Automatic door opening
On city bus and tram lines, drivers will continue to open all doors (except the front) automatically centrally without further pressing the demand button, at all stops where vehicles will stop. Stops on the sign are maintained in order to ensure the operation of bus and tram connections according to existing timetables.
Obligation to have the mouth and nose covered with a respirator or nanoscale
In all areas of public transport, ie inside vehicles, lobbies, on the platforms of a metro station or in transfer corridors, the obligation of passengers to keep their mouths and noses covered by a respirator or nanoshore still applies.
Reinforcement of the weekend metro operation from Saturday, February 26, 2022
Connections on city lines will continue to operate on weekdays according to the current half-empty timetable. Hl. m Prague, DPP and ROPID expect the resumption of full operation on city lines from Monday, March 21, 2022.
Due to the gradually growing demand for metro travel on weekends, the Prague Underground connections will run again on Saturday and Sunday from Saturday, February 26, 2022, according to the standard schedule, not the current holiday schedule.
