Prague: Metro line O – its meaning will be checked by a working group
They should be in the working group according to the square experts across disciplines. The members will be, for example, transport and territorial development experts, as well as economists, urban planners, architects, sociologists or social geographers.
The construction of metro D is a priority
The city is now waiting for a building permit for the construction of the first section of the fourth metro line D, which is to measure about ten kilometers and will pass through Pankrác and Písnice. In the future, another section from Pankrác to náměstí Míru is to be built. According to this year’s update, the total estimated price of line D is 97.79 billion crowns.
“I think it’s serious about the O meter. Based on preliminary transportation models, we know that Prague needs a round trip. Check this now in an extensive and thorough feasibility study that will answer the questions of exactly where the metro will lead, what technology will be used and how much it will cost, ”said Scheinherr.
According to Hřiby, the pirates support the expansion of public transport. According to him, the construction of metro D is a priority. “Pirates clearly support further expansion of public transport. Therefore, the priority now is to ensure the financing of the construction of metro D. The management of the roundabout of the next line is in itself a question. Experts should check if it would not be more appropriate to take the route further from the center. It should not copy the route of the prepared tram circuit, “he said.
Also according to Hlubuček is priority of the city line D. “A roundabout in a city the size of Prague is economically absolute nonsense, both in terms of investment and subsequent operation. Such a solution is also completely urbanly unsuitable for millions and it would make operational sense if there were five to six inhabitants in Prague, “Said the deputy. According to him, the city should focus, in addition to D lines, on the development of tram and trolleybus lines and develop train connections with the Central Bohemian Region.
Possible route
The new line O should lead from Podbaba Railway Station via Dejvice, Smíchov, Dvorce, Budějovická, Vršovice, Žižkov, Vysočany, Čakovice and then in the second phase north back to Podbaba. According to the initial design, it would measure about 36 kilometers and there would be 23 stations on it. The roundabout appeared in the metro construction plans as early as the 1980s.
