– Hope readers are hungry – E24
SAN FRANCISCO (E24) Anders Husa and Kaitlin Orr are some of Scandinavia’s biggest food influencers. Well, they are starting a collaboration with E24.
To most of us, it may sound like a dream: Anders Husa and Kaitlin Orr earn a living by traveling the world and eating at restaurants.
From food trucks in Los Angeles, bakeries in Tallinn and Michelin restaurants in Copenhagen, they post colorful photos and videos on the blog and social media.
Here they have gradually gained a large following. With a total of 237,000 followers on Instagram, the cohabiting couple are some of Scandinavia’s biggest math influencers.
– It’s a job, but it’s more work than people think, says Kaitlin Orr, before she hurries to say that she dreams in no way complains.
– We started blogging out of a passion for mat and travel. This is not something we want to do yet.

Met at Maaemo
Anders Husa and Kaitlin Orr first established themselves as food bloggers separately. For Husa, the passion began at home in the kitchen in Western Norway, where he was taught to cook.
Then it developed. He experimented more and more with recipes from different parts of the world and emailed lists of great restaurants to friends.
– Eventually I thought that maybe I should just publish them, he says.
At first blogging was a hobby, but five years ago Husa decided to invest everything. He quit his job and started writing about math full time.
Across the Atlantic, Kaitlin Orr grew up with an avocado tree in the garden of Los Angeles and learned early on to love neighboring country tacos just across the border.
She started as a blogger when she was a student in New York and loved exploring the city’s restaurants.
– It was actually an excuse not to eat in the school cafeteria, says Orr.
– If they had better math, I might never have started a blog.

– She has never worked towards becoming a Michelin chef
In 2018, we will cross theirs for the first time, fittingly enough at a three-star Michelin restaurant: Maaemo in Oslo. Here they sat next to each other at a food event, and Husa helped Orr with recommendations and reservations for an upcoming Sweden trip.
– Then I said that I something like: “You should join, it’s not like fun to eat alone”. Since then, we have only traveled together, says Orr.
The best experience
It quickly took on different roles: usually writing the blog posts, Husa movies, taking pictures and editing. Nor was it difficult to find out where they would base themselves; both believe Copenhagen is one of the world’s most impressive food cities.
But the American food blogger has also been impressed by the Norwegian cuisine, special ingredient.
– I think Norwegian seafood is the best in the world, she says.
– Seafood must be of good quality, right? It’s different. Norwegian scallops and crayfish are some of my favorite foods ever.
When E24 talks to the cohabiting couple, they are on their first US trip since before the pandemic broke out. They have spent a long time in New York before traveling to Orr’s hometown of Los Angeles. From here they will also travel north along the coast.
– We must both visit some of our favorite places and try out new restaurants that have opened in recent years, says Orr.
Behind every journey is a lot of research, a process that often starts before they know where to go.
– We want to guide people to the very best restaurants and dining experiences around the world, says Orr.

That does not necessarily mean the most expensive. It may be finding the best pizza in New York or the best street taco in Los Angeles. Preferably local favorites.
– We only mention things we have tried and approved ourselves. We do not include a place because it is hyped or popular, says Husa, who says they never get free meals or paid for by restaurants in other ways.
Guides and recipes
When asked what E24’s readers can expect, Orr and Husa point to positive energy and passion.
– The goal is to find restaurants we think we like, says Husa.
– If we write about something, it’s because we love it. And we want you to go there because it’s amazing, says Orr.
The favorites are guides and recommendations, and they are extra well versed in Oslo, Copenhagen, New York and Los Angeles. In addition, they announce the occasional recipe.
– We’ll probably publish Kaitlin’s pancake recipe. It has been very popular, says Husa and smiles.
– Is that something else you want to say to readers?
– Well. I wish they were hungry, says Orr and laughs.
