Ecobonus, alarm from Ance Siena: “Construction collapses with the block of credits”
“The Government has decided to block the credits dedicated to the Ecobonus to try to stem scams and mafia infiltrations, but in this way it has only blocked the work of honest entrepreneurs”. Giannetto Marchettini, president of Ance Siena, thunders on the Ecobonus question, which has been worrying the whole country for some months. The procedure is simple: some construction companies, fictitious, purchase construction sites, also fictitious, just to pocket the credits available thanks to the Ecobonus 110%. The problem is that at the base of the issue there is not only a trivial scam concocted by who knows what, but a real business run by organized crime has taken root.
“The province of Siena – comments Marchettini – is not registering any mafia infiltration inside the building. The problem is the many open construction sites, already in progress, which have now stopped due to the government’s maneuvers. I understand the decision to block everything to solve the problem, but for the moment the result is only the stop of the construction sites of honest workers “.
The Ecobonus, introduced by the Conte government, had given a great deal of breadth to the entire construction sector, pushing private individuals to build and renovate, creating a strong occupation of the land. The province of Siena was also experiencing a great season, with several construction sites that now, however, are still open with no more funds to be able to carry on the work.
“In recent years – continues the president of Ance Siena – the construction sector has grown visibly. The problem is that many of these were not real entrepreneurs, but owners with offices abroad. The flaw is due to the simplicity with which construction companies could have access to credit without any type of control by the Revenue Agency. There is a lot of money circulating within the construction industry, just think that the request for loans for a renovation of a structure of five residential units is around one million euros “.
“The problem of Italy – he concludes – is the lack of qualification of companies in private construction. Today, anyone can go to the Chamber of Commerce, sign up and start a new construction company. We need to rethink a new regulation that is adequate and satisfactory. Like, for example, public construction, which before daring to contract out a job asks for lots of quality guarantees and certifications from companies. In this way we would be able to protect honest workers who are now in a worrying situation, without liquidity to carry out the work. The consequence, if a solution is not found as soon as possible, will be the stop of construction sites and a collapse of private construction “.
