Catherine Allard, deputy mayor in charge of sports and sports associations in the new town of Annecy, was “L’Invité.e H2O” this Sunday, January 23, 2022.
The opportunity for the elected, to explain the reflection of the town hall on the private / public school course. That is to say the sports offered by schools to their students.
For the deputy mayor, reworking this school career is not a political line.
She explains : “There is no dogmatism, no ideology behind it. We are working on making a proposal so that children, whether in the public or private sector, can have access to the same sports. »
And it is cross-country skiing that poses a particular problem.
The private schools of Annecy and Annecy Le Vieux allowed their students to go cross-country skiing.
On the other hand, the pupils of Cran-Gevrier, Seynod or Meythet did not have access to it in their sports course.
The elected official explains the reason: the lack of territorial educators of physical and sports activities (Etaps).
The town of Annecy Le Vieux had the necessary Etaps to offer this course to both private and public schools. Unlike schools in other delegated municipalities.
For Catherine Allard, it is necessary to rework this private/public sports course ” […] out of concern for social justice”.
Pupils from public schools in the new town will benefit, as a priority, from cross-country skiing slots: “We offer, first, to all our public schools, these are 5,500 students concerned, and the remaining slots to private. For those we cannot accommodate, we will give financial compensation. »
If the first constraint remains a lack of staff, there is also a lack of slots…
Catherine Allard says: “The Semnoz resort can’t accommodate everyone either, and if we’re talking about sailing and rowing, the two bases can’t either. There is a balance to be found between the slots available, our Etaps and the associations. »
The elected official and Christian Bovier, deputy mayor in charge of children and educational success are therefore working on the question: “We need to reduce spending but we also need social justice. »
The chosen one recalls her objective “to have the same offer in the public and the private sector. »
She specifies: “If by luck and chance we can hire more Etaps, we will do so and we could have a much faster proposal. »
Problem: the cost…
Catherine Allard, says that a study is currently underway to assess different operations: involvement of associations, additional hiring…
