Russian world and Russian cheese: career and life of the cheese maker Sirota | Power
It’s hard to write about anything other than the war with Ukraine that the Western media has been promising for a long time, and now US President Joseph Biden. Already the date, or rather the date, the announcement – literally tomorrow or the day after tomorrow everything should happen. It’s hard to write, but I’ll try anyway. For a considerable time, an event took place and a landmark event for the Russian world. Oleg Sirota, a well-known cheese maker in a fairly wide circle, left his family – his wife and children. Pelageya Sirota in her social networks said that according to the marriage contract, all family property (cheese factory, cars, herds of cows) remains with her husband.
“Despite all the difficulties, Oleg never came to a peace agreement with me. And although during negotiations with lawyers we came to a common denominator and agreed, Oleg eventually changed his mind and canceled the decision. Under this contract, I have nothing left. No cheese factory, no business, no cars. Nothing from the words “absolutely”. Everything belongs to Oleg, ”Pelageya wrote. In addition, it turned out that the family house was mortgaged for the construction of a new cowshed, and the cheese maker also did not want to repay this loan.
After the story hit the press, Oleg Sirota, apparently, went to hell. True, the world community needed the services of experienced lawyers, about which Pelageya honestly wrote. The version of what happened from the cheese maker himself was a few others: “I did not refuse obligations”, “fictions appeared around the story”, “we made a wise decision”. For a week about a successful traditionalist, who himself raised his own business, worked for a large family and was for his wife that same stone wall from the proverb, collapsed. One of the symbols of the post-Crimean “Russian world” has fallen.

Talk about a special Russian world at the state level started after the annexation of Crimea and the start of the conflict in the Donbass. No, of course, the Russian world exists with its culture and customs (open the Republic-North magazine and see for yourself). But propaganda began to spread among the citizens of Russia, some other Russian world – with the militias, who without obscenities can not connect even two words (also obscene), with critical geopolitical experts on TV shows, with believers insulted for any reason, with people talking in style of the Donetsk militias by diplomats. The place of culture here was taken by brute force, the place of peace was taken by war. Sanctions from the West were presented as a blessing – and we do not need this, we will have our own, even better. Even loyalists in this strange “Russian world” do not find something positive. And then the Istra cheese maker Oleg Sirota came to the rescue. A positive man, a lover of social networks, an exemplary family man with a beautiful wife and kids. The Sirota Cheese Factory opened in the summer of 2015, just when everyone realized that anti-sanction products are for a long time (preferably courage and danger in the future), and began to look closely at the producers: what if we can still make parmesan? “It’s possible, it’s even better to order,” Sirota replied to tea lovers of delicious cheese. Maybe it didn’t work out better, but, according to the reviews of acquaintances, they cook quite tolerable cheese in Istra, although it turns out to be expensive.
