Calypso, the new river shuttle from the Tip network
A new river shuttle makes it possible to cross the Seine in Rouen.
In the summer of 2019, the Rouen Normandie Metropolis launched the experimentation of an electro-solar energy river shuttle in Rouen to facilitate the passage from the right bank to the left bank for pedestrians. In 2022, faced with the craze for this soft mode of transport, the Métropole is transforming the trial and permanently making the river shuttle permanent as a public transport line within the Tip network.
Integrated into the Tip network now called “Calypso”, the river shuttle continues its usual route from the right bank departing from the Jean Ango pontoon to the left bank at the pontoon located in front of hangar 108. Equipped with a new boat, still electric and With a capacity of 49 people, Calypso circulates:
– Monday to Friday from 7:45 am to 9:30 am, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and from 4:30 pm to 6:45 pm (except nights of hockey matches when the shuttle is interrupted from 6 pm),
– Weekends and public holidays from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (except evenings of hockey matches when the shuttle is interrupted from 6:00 p.m.).
To take it, users must have a valid transport ticket on the Tip network: all Tips network subscriptions and tickets are accepted and include the SMS ticket and the M-ticket. A validator present inside the shuttle makes it possible to validate both a magnetic title and a Tip card. Note that no ticket purchases can currently be made in the shuttle.
The crossings are made at a regular rate depending on the number of visitors. If a person wishes to take the shuttle and it is moored on the other side, all they have to do is make a gesture to signal their intention to cross.
Saturday and Sunday, it’s free, I validate!
The Calypso crossing is free on Saturdays and Sundays. However, the passenger must have a validated ticket but no travel statement will be made.
Come and encourage the Rouen Dragons by boarding Calypso!
On match nights, to facilitate access to Ile Lacroix, a service to the Island by river shuttle is in place. Departing from the Quai du Pré aux Loups located on the right bank next to the Véolia agency, it transports passengers to the ice rink car park located at the level of the Ile Lacroix pontoon.
Rotations are guaranteed every 10 minutes from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and from 10:10 p.m. to 11 p.m. The conditions of use of the shuttle and the prices are identical to the usual crossings.
