What to do in Toulouse this weekend? Here are our ideas for outings to do on Saturday February 12 and Sunday February 13, 2022. Follow the guide!
#1. Take a tour of the contemporary art fair
Until Sunday, February 13, 2022 takes place the International Contemporary Art Fair art3f. This reference show will be organized at Meett, the new exhibition center of the Metropolis, located in Aussonne. 200 French and international artists will be present!
“This edition will satisfy both neophytes and connoisseurs, while promoting encounters between art actors and their public. Galleries, painters, sculptors, photographers from Toulouse, France, Europe and all over the world, we will make you discover their singular artistic universes”, indicate the organizers. In 2020, this event provided 32,000 visitors. Count 10 euros for entry (free for under 18s).
#2. Sale of dried flowers
Until Sunday February 13, 2022, Plantes Pour Tous offers a sale of dried flowers, special Valentine’s Day, in the city center of Toulouse. This sale takes place at Studio Lucette, 20 rue Héliot, a few steps from the Jeanne d’Arc metro station.
“Our dried flowers come from European productions, grown without pesticides or chemicals. Flowers and grasses are naturally dried upside down in warm, dark rooms. The colorful flowers are tinted with natural dyes”.
#3. Hunt down Fake News at the Quai des Savoirs
With the proliferation of fake news and conspiracy theses on social networks, it is sometimes very difficult to distinguish the true from the false. To help see things more clearly, the Quai des savoirs has recently offered a brand new exhibition entitled “Critical spirit, think again”.
Visitors are invited to take part in workshops and carry out everyday experiments. The goal is to explore trap situations in order to unmask preconceived ideas but also to play at checking information. It is thus possible to stroll through a fictitious city with its town hall, its kiosk, its performance hall, its food-truck, and its mini-market. Visitors are notably confronted with real speeches, false arguments and very biased media.
So, will you be able to disentangle the true from the false?
