“Valentini criticizes in Siena what he approves in Monteriggioni”
Senesi and Lattanzio criticize the positions of the “fifth councilor”
MONTERIGGIONI. From Raffaella Senesi and Fabio Lattanzio of the Civic List For Monteriggioni we receive and publish.
“We are surprised, for various reasons, by the defense assumed by the municipal councilor of Siena Bruno Valentini with respect to the work of the Frosini council which, with the resolution of the Council n.151 / 2020, canceled the construction from the list of public works of the civic center serving the hamlets of SanMartino and Tognazza: both because Valentini has no political or administrative roles in Monteriggioni that can legitimize him to give judgment in the press on which works are necessary and which are not in our municipality, and because in his function as a municipal councilor in Siena, he argues daily with the De Mossi council, according to which he does not continue, rather he dismantles, or otherwise realizes what is set in his syndicate. but evidently our criticisms have embarrassed the Monteriggioni administration, which on 10 February will present itself to the residents to illustrate what has already been decided.
The participatory budget of 2012 (mayor precisely Valentini) was a financier of direct democracy, from the Tuscany Region, with which they will be the protagonists in deciding the priorities in the administrative action.
For the hamlets of San Martino-Tognazza, the construction of the civic center at the service of the community was considered of primary importance. It should be noted that this was absolutely not conceived as a health center, but as a container of functions useful to the community and to the social life of very populated dormitories without services and meeting spaces, which could also include a medical clinic. but nothing to do with the Fontebecci outpatient clinic is used as a pretext to justify the elimination of the civic center. The administration of the Senesi mayor, correctly, did not cancel the civic center although inherited from its predecessor, but designed it, financed with the administration surplus, made exceptionally available by the Renzi government in 2015, and put up for tender . Then, unfortunately, there were complications on the part of the company that had won the contract, so it was not possible to generate the work before the end of the mandate.
The former mayor of Siena Valentini in his attempt of political aid to the Frosini administration, goes so far as to say that after 10 years the conditions and needs have changed enough to justify the replacement with a different public work.
We do not agree, because the civic center and the gym at the service of the school are not antithetical or interchangeable, having different functions and objectives, but our criticism remains, as well as of merit, also of method.
In fact, when citizens are asked how to spend their money, an address for the administration derives from this and the address is binding for that mayor and for the following ones. If you believe that the conditions and conditions have changed you will have to respond to citizenship again, before canceling your choice.
As recently stated by the president of Anac (National Anti-Corruption Authority): “an administration plans its work for its legislature, councils and the mayor who follows it abandons it because he does not feel it is his. We must begin to think that the works belong to the country and therefore we plan beyond the fence…. There are some commitments that go beyond the electoral mandate of the person who makes them, which are for citizenship… ”.
