Prague needs tourists back. You will join the Mastercard event
Mastercard and the City of Prague have jointly announced the connection of Prague to the City Potential Mastercard network. Prague wants to use Mastercard for better targeting in attracting tourists to the Czech capital.
The City Possible platform has existed for 3 years and involves 325 world cities, such as Athens, Helsinki, London, Dublin, New York and Los Angeles. In the last few years, losses in tourism have been estimated at trillions of dollars. Prague has seen a significant drop in the number of visitors over the past two years, resulting in economic impacts on local businesses.
As part of the Stay in Prague digital campaign, we worked with Mastercard on shopping behavior data, which includes us to effectively optimize and target our campaign. We will also use the Mastercard Tourism Insights platform in the preparation and implementation of marketing and communication activities,

In practice, it will look like, for example, that Mastercard will provide Prague with anonymized data of its users, which will show what the nation prefers when visiting Prague. Thus, for example, the Italians most often shop, the French are most interested in culture and the like. Accordingly, the city will mainly adapt advertising for the countries.
The municipal joint-stock company Operátor ICT, which provides services in the field of information and communication technologies to Prague, will also be involved in the preparation. It will analyze anonymized and aggregated purchasing data for urban planning and development needs.
