The necklace was torn from the necks of four women in Budapest and given 30 years
The Buda Central District Court sentenced the two men who tore the necklace out of the neck of four elderly women in Budapest to thirty years in prison. One is 18 years in prison and the other is 12 years in prison.
According to the Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office, the 30- and 32-year-old man had the method of following the victim on his way home, then one of them went into the stairwell afterwards, addressed the woman, and then, with a sudden motion, ripped the jewelry out of her neck. The other kept the stairwell front door open for a quick escape and help with the crime. The attackers ran away from the scene.
The accused are a II., A VI. and an XI. in the third or fourth case, they are already operating as a criminal association. In another case, they attacked their victim on the street. In Victor Hugo Street, Angelica, a woman walking slowly from the neck of her old age and illness was torn from the neck, but slipped out of the attacker’s hand and fell into her clothing. The attackers then fled the scene without valuables.
The defendants looted jewelery worth a total of almost HUF 700,000, and the value at stake was more than HUF 15,000 for those remaining in the experimental period.
The oldest woman was 81 years old at the time of the plot. He tried to retrieve his necklace from his assailant, even started toward him, grabbing the man with one hand while trying to close the stairwell door with the other. The assailant then pushed him back and fled the scene with his fellow accused, who was helping the coexistence.
The 30-year-old man was sentenced to 18 years and could not be released on parole. The Buda Central District Court imposed a 12-year prison sentence on his partner. The court also ordered the confiscation of property against the accused and ordered them to pay compensation. The verdict was not final, and the defendants and their defendants appealed. The two men are still under arrest.
