“SANTA MARIA DELLA SCALA CLOSED. OR ALMOST”
“The door is open but the museum spaces are empty”
Liquid from here, overturn there, entrust it to the right, nominate it to the left, in the end the S. Maria della Scala managed to close it. The door is open, but the museum spaces have lost their functionality because Opera Laboratori (licensed by the Municipality) is taking away vans of its own equipment, from books to projectors. And the municipality did not prepare their furniture in time. It seems that the public at the Palazzo was angry with Opera Laboratori, from which they expected who knows what “charity”. Useless anger, which underlines even more the superficiality with which the management change was faced. The result is that what should be the most important museum and cultural space in the city, the one that would aspire to dialogue with the Pinacoteca and would like to host his works, is now not appropriate. Until? Who knows. The controversial competition for hiring overseers, librarians, etc. is overdue. Surveillance was proposed as an extension to the two cooperatives that were already carrying out this task. The cooperatives can be managed through the manager (what can they do?) But they have specified that they prefer the continuity of management part of Opera Laboratori a selection of the tender. Choices that their employees should be better protected. And Sigerico- Sienaparcheggi, the new manager directly entrusted to the Municipality? Watch it. Dadi: the competition was held by the Municipality and the Municipality had to think about the equipment and the Municipality will have to think about it; solved the problems we will arrive. And the S. Maria della Scala Foundation? Impalpable. This is the picture.
And all those on the left (and right) who a few years ago, when the Monte crisis had taken away the money, protested in Piazza del Duomo against the risk of closing the S. Maria (thwarted not without sacrifices by the Municipality of the time) today where am I?
