Reading time: approx. 3 minutes
In the end they confirmed their first place in the Oberliga Nord with the win and are now five points ahead of the Scorpions and their eight on Tilburg. There was certainly not only joy about Essen’s victory against Hamburg, but also at the horse tower. The Indians are benefiting from the Hamburg defeat in the Ruhr metropolis, are still nine points ahead of the Crocodiles and have only played two more games. In the end, Essen also celebrated tenth place after the win. Although Herford could be overtaken, they are now level on points with the Westphalians.
Hanover Scorpions – Saale Bulls Halle 3: 4 (2: 1, 0: 1, 1: 1, 0: 1) aet
In a real play-off fight, the Halle team proved to be a spoilsport for the hosts in the top game of the Oberliga Nord. They certainly had big goals before the game. Once she wanted to repeat the unbelievable 11:1 of the first encounter from the beginning of October 2021 and then of course shorten the sun place in the league by three points. Had the endeavor been successful, the Scorpions would have had the chance to regain first place next weekend.
However, it wasn’t meant to be, although the game launch was quite similar to October’s. The home side came out of the dressing room with a lot of momentum, immediately put the Bulls under pressure and also scored goals. After only four minutes of play for the Scorpions with 2:0 and the present, approved 500 were already looking forward to a repetition of the shooting festival. Ironically, two strikers, who were last active in Hanover, provided the equalizer. First Lukas scored Valasek, then Patrick Schmid. With the 2:2 it goes into the second break and then only two goals, on both sides and in the majority. Tatu Vihavainen put Halle ahead, Robin Just equalized for the Scorpions, with the goal 25 seconds from the end of the field. A bit of a shock for Halle, but the Bulls are tough enough and Tatu Vihavainen needed just 46 seconds in extra time before he sealed the game with his second goal of the day.
The best players for the Hanoverians, who were able to fall back on three licensed players from Wolfsburg, were Robin Just and Mario Valery Trabucco. In Halle, Patrick Schmid shines with three points, as well as Sören Sturm, Tatu Vihavainen, Lukas Valasek and goalkeeper Jakub Urbisch.
Goals: 1:0 (02:17) Mario Valery Trabucco (Koziol, Raabe), 2:0 (04:01) Robin Just (Airich, Klöpper), 2:1 (08:24) Lukas Valasek (Sturm, Schmid 5 -4), 2: 2 (23:29) Patrick Schmid (Valasek), 2: 3 (44:45) Tatu Vihavainen (Forward, Schmid 5-4), 3: 3 (59:35) Robin Just (Ross, Supis 5-4), 3:4 (60:46) Tatu Vihavainen
Moskitos Essen – Crocodiles Hamburg 4: 3 (1: 3, 3: 0, 0: 0)
The surprise of the game day. Essen had to play twice in 24 hours and showed a great improvement after Tuesday’s hard 1:5 against the Indians. In the first third it looked like a continuation of the disaster from the previous day. Hamburg dominated the game and followed suit with 3:1. Essen came back in the middle third and took a 4:3 lead. Hamburg wanted to turn things around in the last twenty minutes but were unable to equalize despite overwhelming superiority. The outstanding player of the day was Essen’s Andre Schreiner, who scored three goals. He was followed by Marc Zajic, Robby Hein and Dominik Luft and of course keeper Pascal Seidel (95.1 percent catch rate). Adam Domogalla and Sam Verelst made the strongest impressions in Hamburg. It is also worth mentioning that the Essen statisticians are not doing the league any favors if they include everything in the shot statistics. The fact that the crocodiles fired 31 shots in the last third simply cannot be true and ultimately destroys the entire statistic.
Goals: 0: 1 (05:48) Sam Verelst (Hamel, Domogalla), 1: 1 (05:53) Andre Pretty (Hein, Zajic), 1: 2 (08:00) Adam Domogalla (Verelst), 1: 3 (10:44) Victor Östling (Reimer, Zimmermann), 2: 3 (23:44) Andre Prettyr (Frick, Luft), 3: 3 (30:27) Robby Hein (Saccomani, Ziolkowski), 4: 3 ( 37:47) Andre Prettyr (Zajic, Air)
