The good news came if you traveled to Stockholm – a new Swedish airline was also formed
From March 27, Norwegian will fly twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays. Ryanair operates 4 scheduled flights a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) between Arlanda and Budapest. Low-cost flights have so far only been offered by Wizz Air to Stockholm, but they are using Skavsta (NYO) Airport, 100 km from the city, while the new flights will land at the nearby Arlanda.
The world’s most international business is aviation, even when it comes to domestic travel. Hungarians living in Sweden are certainly interested in choosing a new airline if they want to travel big within the country quickly.
Launching a whole new airline may seem like a wild gamble these days – but that’s exactly what some entrepreneurs have recently done. If all goes according to plan, Skåneflyg’s first plane will take off from Kristianstad Österlen Airport on March 28 to arrive in Bromma near Stockholm.
There is no doubt that the epidemic has caused extremely difficult times in aviation. more and more people are choosing the train or the car in the short term for environmental reasons. However, many believe that starting a business right now may seem like a gamble. However, Carl-Henrik Dahlqvist, CEO of the newly formed Skåneflyg, sees it differently.
“Many people like to live in Skåne, but their workplace is in Stockholm, where, although not as often as before, they are sometimes present in person. So our main target group is business travelers.”
Because as the epidemic subsides, there is a growing interest in domestic leisure experiences, and the region has plenty to offer.
The launch of new domestic or intra-Scandinavian commercial airlines is not uncommon here, although most of them have either been on the verge of bankruptcy or closed down in the last two years due to the epidemic. An example of a recent attempt is Northern Airlines, founded in 2019, they still exist, but Air Gotland, which launched in 2020, ceased operations last November.
Behind Skåneflyg’s core capital is a group of local entrepreneurs rooted in the area and interested in recognizing the importance of good aviation infrastructure.
We were originally supposed to leave in the spring of 2021, says Carl-Henrik Dahlqvist. However, at the time of the current epidemic, we have decided to postpone the start, first to the fall of 2021 and now to the spring of 2022. We believe that our catchment area is large enough. And it takes less time to get to us by car from Lund than if someone from Lund were trying to get to Malmö Airport.
Skåneflyg’s premiere flight with a used Saab 340B, 33-seater named Humlan, will start on 28 March.
“We will introduce thermal destinations in the future, such as flights to Gotland, Sälen and Åre. The director is now different from the air connection between Skåne and the capital,” he added.
