Prague has no concept, the main mistake, Sehnal read in the debate
As part of the 360 program on CNN Prima News, Prague politicians debated the state of the metropolis. In the autumn, there will be municipal elections and citizens will issue an account of their representatives and councilors in towns and villages. According to the President of the Alliance and the future of the representative of Prague 1, Pavel Sehnal, he focuses on the municipality8 only on short-term problems. “Conceptuality is lacking,” he says.
According to the head of the Alliance for the Future, the Prague leadership and the head of the Alliance for the Future should focus on completing the Prague ring road and stretching the metro, which should go to the outskirts of the city and build sufficient parking capacity at the final station.

“The energy concept is also important, because if the development of electric mobility is to come, we must prepare for it today. “We should also consider a system of modular reactors. It’s all a matter of a metropolitan plan that doesn’t respect the distribution of the workforce at all, “Sehnal told CNN Prima News.
It is said that the city is still concentrating on where the developers manage to build thousands of flats, but it no longer respects the need to create one job for each flat. stated Sehnal.
Tomáš Portlík from the ODS added that it is necessary to negotiate greater financial involvement of the state in Prague at the government level. Above all, it is said that the Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Martin Kupka is involved.
According to Sehnal, the current experience with political struggles in the city leadership shows that the municipality lacks people from practice who have specific life experiences. The main problem is said to be that Prague politicians solve various details, but the leadership of the metropolis lacks the main concept. “Many things need to be generalized and the concept of development needs to be prepared. It’s not here, “said Sehnal.
“Intra-Prague transport will be most relieved if people do not have to travel for work. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that they are offered a job close to home, which is not yet the case. The zones where light production used to be are disappearing from the zoning plan and residential construction is increasing. Here you need to start. When not so many people have to travel for work, traffic in the city will be the easiest, ”says Pavel Sehnal.
Portlík defined himself as Jan Čižinský and stated that if the current leadership of Prague required a pace in occupying lanes for cycle paths and increasing the pace in the construction of important radials, it would benefit Prague. Čižinský defended himself that their councilor for transport was repairing Prague’s roads at the fastest pace ever.
Ondřej Prokop from the YES movement is convinced that Prague should focus on other, smaller problems as well. He cited waste collection as an example, noting that there is still a big mess in the Czech capital.
