“Children’s groups are an alternative for parents who want to return from parental leave to work and the country from the age of 6 months to the start of compulsory schooling. This is a very popular service in Prague, which complements the capacity of kindergartens and nurseries. I am glad that thanks to European money we can support not only projects of a technical nature, such as the construction of new P + R car parks or the purchase of electric buses, but also services aimed at education or job support, ”says the Mayor of Prague Zdeněk Hřib.
“There are several dozen children’s groups in the capital. Two of them, Zvonek and Klíček, have been operated by the City Hall and have been providing quality pre-school childcare for the office’s employees since 2018. These two groups have also been sponsors from the European Union, along with two thousand other places in children’s heads. of the operational program, “adds Vít Šimral, Councilor for Education.
The receipt of applications from the call marked 59 as the total allocation of 30 million crowns, the support of which was intended for the establishment and operation of children’s groups, ended on 13 January this year. The support was eventually awarded to 10 projects with a total expenditure of 20.29 million crowns. In addition to the already mentioned Zvonek and Klíček groups, children’s groups set up by the Prague Social Services Center, children’s groups at the U Uranie Kindergarten, FZŠ and U Studánky Kindergartens or children’s groups under the Prague 12 Social Services and the Social and Nursing Center help in Prague 10.
