5 fashion profiles: The moments they do not forget from CPHFW
Design star Jade Cropper, trends from the early 2000s and gender-neutral fashion are among the highlights from CPHFW.
Which collections impressed? What are the streetstyle stars wearing on display? And what trends can we notice in the coming year? We have asked five Norwegian fashion profiles who took the trip to the fashion week in Copenhagen about the answers.
Alphons M. Amuri
Influencer and model Alphons M. Amuri highlights the show to Baum und Pferdgarten after the week in the Danish capital.
– It was holistic and delivered to those degrees in my opinion. You get everything from incredibly good styling to a choice of models, lights and rooms, he says and adds that Samsøe Samsøe also had a nice view.
The new collections have inspired him to style his garments in a new way.
– As usual, Scandinavian fashion is characterized by layering, and this year Copenhagen has inspired and given me a new perspective on how I can mix garments. One trend several have managed to implement incredible bras is oversized layering. This means that you, for example, combine with jackets in different fits so that it looks architectural.
Nina Sandbech
The colorful Norwegian fashion profile Nina Sandbech thinks the Swedish newcomer Jade Cropper was the absolute best of the season.
– There were a lot of cool cuts and very hot. I really wanted a long skirt with a high split, says Sandbech.
She thinks many of the designers are still a bit affected by the pandemic, and that they thus do not dare to go on completely.
– I miss some «show pieces».
But Sandbech says street fashion weighed in on it this time.
– It took off completely. I have never put so many colors during a Scandinavian fashion week. The Scandinavian style often has a more neutral color palette, but this time it was more colors than ever. I think people need a little color after the pandemic.
Thatiana Campelo
“Varsity jackets everywhere!”, Writes partner and buyer at YME, Thatiana Campelo, in a message to MinMote. She was also in Copenhagen and says it is among the garments that really take place in the fashion scene.
– And faux fur accessories! Especially bucket hats and «pom pom boots». So much fun!
CLOTHES
Varsity jacket: From Harvard to hip-hop
She says the Scandinavian profiles have dressed quite colorfully and relaxed this season, but that trends from the early 2000s dominate among the international profiles.
– Which collection do you want to highlight from the week?
– The biggest talking point this season was the up and coming brand Jade Cropper, with many strong, asymmetrical garments. Holzweiler also had a powerful digital display, and the Han Copenhagen AW22 was definitely my favorite.
Kjetil-André Ward
Influencer Kjetil-André Ward highlights Martin Asbjørn and Søren Le Schmidt as favorites from the fashion week.
– Martin Asbjørn basically makes men’s collections, but this time both female and male models were used to bring out exactly how gender-neutral fashion can be, something I love. The collection is also a good mix between serious and sexy, with elements such as classic suits, put together with metallic fabric in contrasting colors.
– Søren Le Schmidt took us into a fairytale world of a collection. Here they have moved away from the traditional, flat catwalk and commented in their respective carousel carriages. The collection felt like a mix of «Alice in Wonderland» and «Squid Game», which was driven into a fun fair world with models placed around attractions.
After the fashion week, Ward plans to steal some layering tricks to take home, since he thinks he is not particularly good at styling outfits in layers upon layers.
– I also have to get better at using strong colors, not just pastels that I usually live in.
– What trends do you see in the street style image?
– It is very much oversized; everything from coats to bomber jackets and trousers. We are still fond of accent colors, and I saw a lot of green, orange and red on both the new and old fashion profiles. The balaclava also goes again. It may seem like it’s come to stay for a while.

Nathalie Helgerud
ELLE writer Nathalie Helgerud highlights Day Birger et Mikkelsen as one of the season’s best screenings.
– Very inspiring garment and loved the styling. Lots of charcoal strike and a very nice silhouette.
– I am always so wildly inspired by being in Copenhagen. It’s something with Danish girls, that is. I do not know if it is the pandemic that has done it, but I think their style was even more down now even before. Lots of bubble jackets, sweatpants, sneakers and Moon boots.
– The early 2000s is really the big trend down there. Narrow sunglasses, mouse braids à la Spice Girls, wide leather pants and belly tops. And of course the Danes make it not look tacky.
– After this fashion week, there is undoubtedly a crocheted bucket hat, a large oversized coat and a pair of wide suit trousers on the option of min.
