DIJON: La Poste deploys the electric tricycle cargo bike
Three postmen are already crisscrossing the streets of the hyper-center of Dijon using an electrically assisted cargo bike.
La Poste innovates for clean delivery in Dijon
at the end of January 2022, 3 postmen being equipped with a new means of transport for the distribution of parcels in the heart of Dijon: the triporteur cargo bike. La Poste is making urban logistics a priority by developing its low-emission vehicles and optimizing its distribution circuits, while adapting to customer needs.
A delivery in soft mode in Dijon
La Poste, mindful of innovative modes of transport, better adapted to the environment and future regulations, anticipates by testing materials in “soft mode”. To do this, the Services – Courrier – Parcels establishment in Dijon Nord is presenting a new means of transport called the “bicycle-cargo triporteur”, an electrically-assisted cargo vehicle for the distribution and collection of parcels for traders, businesses and the general public in hyper- center of Dijon. With this mode of transport, Dijon postmen can travel on cycle paths, in pedestrian areas and can park more easily.
“The cargo bike makes it possible to increase the carrying of parcels thanks to its capacity and its interior layout while guaranteeing a maximum level of safety. A depollution and decongestion issue
