Coronavirus map: Prague is no longer the worst
While in January the coronavirus infection most affected Prague and the Central Bohemian district that surround it, in the last week the coronavirus map darkened the most southwest and northeast Bohemia.
As of Friday, they had the worst weekly incidents in the Hradec Králové region, where in the last week there were 2,397 covid cases per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Plzeňský (2370) and Středočeský (2361) regions. In Prague, the incidence is at 2312.
On the other hand, the Karlovy Vary region with an incidence of 1830 or the South Bohemian region (2005) are relatively the best.
Of the districts, Mladá Boleslav is one of the worst with an incidence of 2989, and the Beroun, Plzeň, Domažlice, Rychnov nad Kněžnou, Brno, Opava and Zlín regions are similar.
Bruntál (1653) is one of the best, and Havlíčkův Brod or the westernmost Czech regions, such as Cheb and Karlovy Vary, are relatively well off.
Overall, the incidence in the Czech Republic fell from Thursday’s 2404 cases to Friday’s 2230.
Laboratories in the Czech Republic on Friday detected 28,658 confirmed new cases of coronavirus infection and 5,150 suspected reinfection. The numbers are significantly lower than on Friday last week, when there were over 47,000 newly confirmed cases.
Furthermore, the number of hospitalized with covid does not increase significantly. There are 3,120 infected patients hospitalized, of which 202 are in serious condition.
