Stanisław Olejniczak – one of the most outstanding Polish basketball players has died

On Tuesday, at the age of 83, Stanisław Olejniczak, a multiple representative of Poland, European runner-up in 1963 and a student of the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, died in the co-participants – PZKosz announced on Wednesday.
Olejniczak to one of the most outstanding Polish basketball players. The player who was born in Zbąszyń in his career represented the colors of Lech Poznań, and then Legia Warszawa. In league games he won the national championship three times (once with Lech and with Legia).
With the Polish representation since the inception of the educational program in history. In 1963 in Wrocław he became the runner-up in Europe, defeating the Soviet Union 45:61 in the final. Two years later, in an additional tournament of this type, ranginiczak won the bronze medal.
In 1964, in Tokyo, in the Olympics, where the Poles took sixth place. He played 121 games for the national team, scoring 628 points.
For his achievements in sport, he was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
