Basket-LdC (M): Dijon revives
Beaten by Ludwigsburg at the opening of the Top 16 of the Champions League last week, Dijon recovered well by dominating Hapoel Holon with a score of 78-66 and can still hope to finish in the first two places in the group.
After a last week marked by defeats against Ludwigsburg for the first day of the Top 16 of the Champions League and against Bourg-en-Bresse in Betclic Elite, Dijon did well this first week of February, with a 78-66 victory over Hapoel Holon which allows him to temporarily take the lead in group I. The Dijonnais waited for the second half to make the difference, but the essential is assured.
At the end of the first quarter, it was indeed the Israelis who were leading 16-22. They still led throughout the second quarter, but the JDA fell behind little by little, reaching halftime only being played 31-32. The third quarter was very close, with the two teams taking turns in front, but with three minutes left in the quarter, Dijon accelerated from 46-47 to 56-49, thanks in particular to two long-range shots from Chase Simon and Robin Ducoté.
Kelly Precious for the JDA
The difference was made and in the last quarter, the French club was no longer worried and its lead even climbed to +12 (69-57), before dropping a little (69-62) and rising to +12 at the end, on a last layup from Rashard Kelly. The 26-year-old winger finished top scorer in Dijon with 20 points, but also 10 rebounds on the clock. Next Wednesday, the JDA will travel to Galatasaray to try to win a second match in this Top 16. Remember that the first two of each group will qualify for the quarter-finals. On Wednesday, the other French club in the running, Strasbourg, will host Tenerife.
