Air Canada operates flights between Toronto and Budapest
Air Canada will fly to Budapest three times a week from May 2022 until the end of the summer schedule.
According to the official announcement sent to Budapest by Budapest Airport, the highly anticipated national confirmation of the resumption of the flight between Toronto and Budapest has arrived.
The airline previously flew to Budapest with the aircraft of its leisure company Rouge, but now the route will be part of Air Canada’s backbone network in Budapest.
Air Canada’s three-class Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft will fly to the Hungarian capital three times a week between May and the end of October 2022, offering 894 seats a week in one direction during the summer high season.
The aircraft can carry a total of 298 passengers, 30 in business class, 21 in premium economy class and 247 in economy class.
Air Canada AC No. 1014 departs from Toronto on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing at 20:50 and arriving in Budapest the next day at 11:15.
The return flights with number AC 1015 will fly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, depart from Budapest at 1 pm and land in Toronto at 4:20 pm.
The journey time here is 8 and a half, back 9 and a half hours.
“We are very proud that Air Canada is returning to Budapest Airport’s portfolio with this popular and missed destination. We have worked tirelessly with the airline and the Hungarian Tourism Agency to make the resumption plan a reality and to bring long-haul flights back to the airport, ”said Balázs Bogáts, Head of Flight Development at Budapest Airport, according to the announcement.
The last time Air Canada’s Rouge Boeing 767-300ER aircraft flew to Ferihegy in the summer of 2019, the return of the seasonal flight is planned for 2020, but this did not happen due to the epidemic. As we wrote earlier, the leisure airline redeemed 30 percent of its fleet in the spring of 2020, including the wide-body Boeing 767s.
