Peleikis hits, Linda holds: Ex-players hit the Hannover Scorpions in the core
This time Patrick Klöpper took a little more time. The Hannover Scorpions striker scored the 1-0 goal after just eight seconds in his team’s 6-2 away win at the Herne Miners on Friday.

On Sunday at the quick reunion in Mellendorf, Klöpper scored the first goal of the game again – this time 19 seconds had passed after the opening face-off. In the end, the Scorpions lost their home game in the ice hockey league 3: 4 (2: 2, 1: 2, 0: 0).

After Nils Liesegang equalized (8′), Klöpper was there again when he put the hosts outnumbered back in front (14′). A few minutes earlier, Alex Heinrich had hit the post of the Herner goal in a counterattack. Michél Ackers (20th) equalized again for the guests.
The middle third led the initial phase to a wild party – and ex-Scorpions Robert Peleikis was right in the middle. The Miners defender appeared in front of Brett Jäger in the best goalscoring manner and defeated the Wedemark keeper twice (25th, 26th). Tyler Gron made it 3:3 20 seconds before the second Peleikis goal.
Linda drives Scorpions to despair
In the final third, the Scorpions rarely managed to put pressure on Björn Linda’s goal. With a majority, Christoph Koziol (52nd) failed in front of him. In the last few minutes, the Scorpions pushed for an equaliser, but Gron’s attacking line-up with Michael Hammond and Brett Ross in particular were unlucky and failed several times at Linda – making another ex-Scorpion a spoilsport.
Crack: 1: 0 (0:19) Klöpper (Airich, Reiss), 1: 1 (7:17) Liesegang (Swinnen, Wilenius), 2: 1 (13:13) Klöpper (Airich at 4-5), 2: 2 (19:06) Ackers (Ordendorz, Behrens), 2:3 (24:39) Peleikis (Popov at 4:4), 3:3 (25:34) Gron (Trabucco, Hammond at 5:4), 3:4 (25:54) Peleikis (Wilenius)
The Hannover Indians were not in action at the weekend. Because of corona cases at the Saale Bulls Halle, the games against the front runners will take place on both Friday and Sunday.
