the inhabitants of Wizernes exasperated by a mysterious noise
This noise, which occurs randomly, can last a few tens of seconds or long minutes. Local authorities are trying to identify the origin.
It’s a curious story told by The voice of the North . In Wizernes, a town of 3,000 inhabitants of Pas-de-Calais, residents of all ages have heard a noise comparable to an ultrasound since October. This BNI, “unidentified-noise“, moves in a given perimeter in the east of the city. “It bothers us, it can last between 40 seconds and half an hour each time. It’s annoying, sunny days are coming, we can’t see ourselves living on the terrace with this noise», explains Mauricette to The voice of the North.
The origin of the noise still not identified
The inhabitants alerted a municipal councilor domiciled in the sector concerned and who had heard nothing … until a few seconds after being contacted. “It’s the first time I’ve heard it, I live in rue du Pont-d’Ardennes and I have absolutely no idea where it comes from.“, he confides.
At first, suspicions are directed towards a 5G antenna installed a few kilometers away. But it has not yet entered into service. The mast and the transmitters were not connected to the electrical network and the fiber optic cables.
François Segura, deputy in charge of security and urban planning, explains at BFMTV turned to factories in the region. “The concrete factory doesn’t work at night, so it’s not them. There is also a company that treats waste water, we are going to see them this week. And there’s another factory a little further that might have a faulty machine.“. For now, the auditory mystery of Wizernes remains intact.
