Benitez: “I recommend the name for a great Naples”. De Laurentiis made a deal
The former Napoli coach, Rafa Benitez, when he took leave of Aurelio De Laurentiis, indicates the right name to bring the Azzurri back to great levels.
Rafa Benitez, in the course of his experience in Naples, he generated many times. There are those who invited him for the two trophies they took home (Coppa Italia and Supercoppa) and those who, on the other hand, criticized him because of the two non-qualifications in the Champions League. But on one aspect, everyone agrees: the Spaniard was able to identify great talents. Think of Kalidou Koulibaly, the former Real Madrid (Albiol, Callejon and Higuain), but not only. The Spaniard, when he left Naples, spoke for a long time with Aurelio De Laurentiis.
“I recommend the name of an excellent coach for a great Napoli: Maurizio Sarri. Believe me: he is really good”, Rafa’s words to the president. The Spaniard was impressed by the Tuscan coach for the way in which his little Empoli had dominated against Napoli. That team played with the mentality of the big players. The results achieved by the Figline coach proved Benitez right. Sarri, in Campania, led to the Azzurri in the Champions League for three consecutive years and enchanted Europe with his game. Napoli, which before the coach of Figline, had finished 24 points behind the leaders, fought for the Scudetto.
