Apple releases new Black Unity Braided Single Loop Strap
Like last year, Apple is releasing a new Apple Watch strap to mark African American History Month in February in North America. This bracelet Black Unity Braided Single Loop black and speckled is inspired “of the philosophy of Afrofuturism, which evokes the experience of the African diaspora through a narrative that combines science, technology and empowerment. »
Designed by artists from the black community with the support of Apple, this bracelet uses the colors of the flag panafrican. It is made of 16,000 recycled polyester filaments, crisscrossed around ultra-fine silicone threads. The bindings make up the laser-engraved “Black Unity” message.
This bracelet is already on sale at 99 €. “Apple supports organizations that work for racial equity and justice”is it specified, a way of saying that part of the profits from sales will go to African-American associations.
The strap matches the new Lumières Unity dial available to all Apple Watch owners with watchOS 8.3.
During the annual commemoration of the history of the African Diaspora, Apple is planning various initiatives to highlight the talents and figures of the African-American community on Apple Music, the App Store and its other services.
