“Our economic model is original and virtuous since it accelerates infrastructure equipment and allows the user to save money,” explains Vincent Grena, Europe Director at Volta Charging. Since December, the American company, which has 2,000 electric charging points in the United States, has moved to Europe to start accepting its electric charging stations there. For its first installation on the Old Continent, Volta Charge a restaurant has chosen Key-West, in the commercial area of Grand Epagny, near Annecy (Haute-Savoie). The inauguration of the terminal will take place on February 2.
While electric car sales have changed by 64% on the French market in 2021, Volta Charging’s charging offer presents itself as a simplified and easily deployable solution. A restaurant owner, shop owner or a structure such as a tourist office, wishing to increase their visibility through advertising, need only establish a long-term partnership with Volta for it to install its terminal. By including advertising messages on its screens, it allows advertisers to reach advertising targets near places of consumption, cultural or sporting outings.
Sharp drop in bill
The advertising revenue thus generated will reduce the price paid by the end customer. The charging bill will be reduced by at least 50% compared to a conventional terminal, specifies Vincent Grena. Part of the charge may even be 100% free for the consumer.
“Unlike many charging players, Volta Charging’s business model is not focused primarily on the end user,” insists Vincent Grena. Not to mention the fact that electric charging helps to make shops and public spaces more attractive and that they encourage customers to stay longer at the place of catchment.
