Football agent Mogi Bayat interrogated for two hours today in the Henrotay (Brussels) file
After two hours of interrogation, the well-known broker was allowed
Mogi Bayat, recently prosecuted in the Clean Hands file, was also interrogated for two hours on Wednesday in another major football file. In particular the file around fellow broker Christophe Henrotay. Unlike manager Herman Van Holsbeeck, in the meantime Bayat was allowed to go to jail for almost a week, but Bayat was allowed to go afterwards.
The national football agent was summoned to the offices of the Brussels federal police on Wednesday afternoon. According to our information, it was a planned interrogation, as part of the ongoing judicial investigation into malpractice concerning inbound and outbound transfers at Anderlecht. The Brussels club where Mogi Bayat likes as a real estate agent. There was a time when hardly a transfer was made without Bayat being involved in some way.
That investigation into those transfers, conducted by examining magistrate Michel Claise, has been ongoing since 2019 and focuses, among other things, on those of Chancel Mbemba, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Youri Tielemans. In practice, the file revolves around the actions of broker Christophe Henrotay and the role of ex-manager of Anderlecht Van Holsbeeck. They will personally have to deal with many files full.
Going home after interrogation
For Van Holsbeeck, the re-examination last week became a bitter pill. After a night in the police cell, he was brought before the investigating judge, who promptly arrested him. he is in the prison of Saint-Gilles.
It remains unclear what specific role Bayat will play in this file. On Wednesday afternoon, he and his lawyer Tom Bauwens use himself for questioning. After two hours of aging he was allowed as a free man possibly. An introduction to the examining magistrate was never discussed. His lawyer advised the news but did not want to say anything on Wednesday evening.
