the ARS orders an inspection after the escape of two dangerous patients
Four days after the disappearance of a patient nicknamed “the cannibal” Wednesday, January 19, a second dangerous patient escaped Sunday Marchant hospital, the psychiatric hospital in Toulouse.
Inspection ordered
After these two escapes of sick people, the regional health agency announces in a press release that it is ordering an inspection of the GĂ©rard Marchant hospital: “the report this Sunday of a second patient running away led the general management of ARS Occitanie to carry out an on-site inspection mission, to ensure the compliance of the care of these patients during their stay in this specialized establishment with regard to the regulations in force”.
The Regional Health Agency also specifies in its press release that it had already ordered “an administrative investigation and the transmission of a report”, after the escape of Jeremy Rimbaud the previous week.
Were there any failures? Negligence? How could these two patients find themselves in the street and disappear from the gaze of caregivers? Due to lack of communication from the hospital, all questions are pending. Is it a lack of human resources, to treat, monitor? Or is there a structural flaw, a material flaw in the security of the hospital?
