Hannover 96: Nicolo Tresoldi should train, Michael Tarnat at the school summit – 2nd Bundesliga
The Reds fight for their super talent.
During the holidays Nicolo Tresoldi (17) trained completely with the 96 professionals with integrated trainer Christoph Dabrowski. “He can keep up without any problems.” But since school started on January 10, the Italo striker hasn’t had time for Dabro. That should change.
School summit because of Tresoldi
“Unfortunately, the current timetable does not indicate that he will be trained with the professionals,” says sports director Marcus Mann (37). Instead of Dabro, Tresoldi is back with coach Stephan Schmidt’s U19s, scoring in the 4-1 friendly against Paderborn at the weekend.
“We have to find a way that he can train – without neglecting school,” demands Mann. Tresoldi is in the 10th grade and will be able to graduate from secondary school in the summer.
Talent boss Michael Tarnat (52) has an appointment at Tresoldi’s school, KGS Hemmingen, this week. He also wants to address and clarify the Tresoldi problem.
Tarnat: “We want to find out whether you can combine both – school and football. The goal is that Nicolo can at least be part of Dabro from time to time. For example, on days when you train twice, the afternoon is a good time.”
This is essential for development. Carefully but purposefully Tresoldi should be introduced to the 2nd league. And his goals could well use the Reds (only 15 goals in 20 games). Why not this season?
“We have him totally on the screen,” emphasizes Dabrowski. In the test match against Werder Bremen (2:2), Tresoldi got his first professional minutes and was substituted on in the XXL test in the 107th minute. In 2020 – as a 16-year-old – he was allowed two minutes of range when Kenan Kocak ran out with a Bubi squad (1: 4 at Union Berlin).
Tresoldi has since signed with the Reds. At the age of 18 (on August 20th) it becomes a professional contract.
Dabro enthuses: “Nicolo is a totally intelligent player who understands the game, is technically clean, has a good sense of space and an extremely good header.”
He still has to improve physically – and that’s why it would be so important for him to train with the pros. Dabro: “It’s about developing him further and preparing him in such a way that at some point he has the chance to face a competition.”
But without neglecting school!
