Toulouse: the Léo Lagrange basin closed
Due to a broken pipe, the Léo Lagrange swimming pool is closed until at least February 4.
The swimmers have unfortunately noticed it: the Léo Lagrange swimming pool is closed “until further notice due to a technical problem”, as indicated on the website of the Town Hall of Toulouse. The reopening is only scheduled for February 4 (if all goes well). Another ten days will be needed to repair a pipeline.
Indeed, the Léo Lagrange swimming pool suffered a rupture of a 40 cm diameter pipe which crossed a wall at the outlet of the buffer tank. The municipal services had to close the swimming pool to avoid the flooding of the basements of the swimming pool, because they were unable to filter the water in the basin, and therefore to offer water that met regulatory hygiene standards. . The repair requires breaking down a wall to gain access to the rest of the pipe in order to make its change. The parts are ordered, awaiting delivery, explains the Town Hall.
Castex has reopened
As for the Castex basin, located on the island of Ramier, and temporarily closed after the floods of the Garonne, it quickly returned to normal operation. Following the flooding of the Garonne, the buffer tank and the pump room were flooded, causing the swimming pool to shut down. Once the water from the Garonne had been evacuated, the pumps were dismantled and checked. After checking that they were working properly, they were reassembled and, with them, the whole system could be restarted. Today the pool has returned to normal activity.
