Sweden’s RGNT motorcycles will sell their electric bicycles in the USA
As early as 2019, the Swedish electric motorcycle startup RGNT released its extremely striking retro-modern electric motorcycle concept, which was completely different from everything else in the electric motorcycle area. Thankfully, in 2021, it was finally ready to be rolled out to customers in the EU, the UK, Switzerland and Norway.
That was good news for a significant number of motorcyclists, no doubt – but unfortunately for us in the US, it seemed like just another cool motorcycle design that we could only admire from afar. Here in January 2022, however, we are extremely happy to be able to tell you that everything has changed. It is right; If you are a rider in the US who was hoping to get your hands on an RGNT electric motorcycle, now you can officially. RGNT now accepts pre-orders from US-based customers, with plans to ship in late 2022 for delivery in early 2023.
You can choose between RGNT No. 1 Classic or RGNT No. 1 Scrambler. Both are powered by an 11 kW engine with a 7.7 kWh battery, with the top speed listed as 125 km / h (77.6 mph) on the Classic or 120 km / h (74.5 mph) on the Scrambler. The claimed range is between 60 and 111 miles, depending on both how you ride it and what model you get, according to the specification sheets.

Other components found on both bikes include J.Juan CBS brakes, a Paioli Ceriani replica fork at the front that offers 120mm of travel and a rear shock absorber with adjustable spring bias. LED lights from Motogadget keep your bike both bright and light, and you also get a 7-inch LCD touch screen at the front with both GPS and cloud connection directly from the box.
This is where it gets a little interesting. When RGNT announced that they were accepting orders for their hand-built electric bikes in Europe in 2021, the MSRP for Classic was 12,495 Euros and 13,495 Euros for Scrambler. We know that prices do not usually directly convert between currencies, but the conversion rate was $ 14,308 for Classic and $ 15,454 for Scrambler. In addition, the deposit cost was 450 euros, or about 515 dollars.
However, this official US announcement for RGNT is more favorably priced for US customers. For starters, deposits are $ 150. The USD cost for Classic is listed starting at $ 12,495, with Scrambler starting at $ 13,495. Apparently, RGNT really likes these two special numbers, no matter what currency symbol is associated with them.
These are handmade machines, but as with most OEMs, there are plenty of options for customization directly from the workshop, at an additional cost. Things like colors, grips, tanks and a rear stand are all things you can decide on if you have decided to get one.
