[Interviews] Jyyyce, Monaco supporter: “The first part of the season is quite mixed”
Continuation of the supporters’ tour of France. Meeting today with Jyyyce, supporter of AS Monaco. We will discuss with him the current form of his team, his passion for ASM, and the latest results of the MHSC.
Hello, can you introduce yourself quickly for our Internet users?
Salvation ! I am @jyyyce on Twitter, I’m 18 and I live not far from Reims.
When and how did you become a supporter of ASM?
As a kid, I was going on vacation to Monaco and that’s where I could see the training center. Until now, I only followed the club “from a distance”. I have been a real supporter since the magnificent 2016 – 2017 season. So I was 14 years old.
What is your best memory at the stadium?
I have, for the moment, never been to Louis II, being a student and in times of COVID, it is rather complicated. But normally, I will be able to go there this season, if the conditions allow it! I have seen Monaco 4 times with my own eyes. 3 times in Reims and 1 time in parking lots in Paris in December. And I think the trip to the park was the best memory so far, it was amazing! As a little anecdote on the 4 matches seen from Monaco. I have never seen ASM score!
A little review of the first part of the season?
The first part of the season is quite mixed. I don’t think that’s it yet because with our squad we have to be on the podium. But with the results of our competitors and this Ligue 1, we are doing quite well in terms of the rankings.
Monaco changed coach during the break. How did you experience this movement on the part of your club?
As for the change of coach. I think it was not the time and we had to wait until the end of the season. Management decided otherwise. Now, we will see what Philippe Clément will give!
Do you expect any changes to the squad during the winter transfer window?
Despite what the majority of Monegasque supporters may say, I think we have a very large squad to aim for the podium. It can of course be improved. I am thinking in particular of a goalscorer for the rotation or a big central defender with experience. On the departure side, apart from a few young loans possibly, nothing to report.
What do you expect for the end of the season from your team?
I hope, of course, the podium and the UCL for this season. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Monaco in the most beautiful of competitions! And in Europe, continue our beautiful journey!
Did you follow the start of the MHSC season? What did you think ?
I followed the start of the MHSC season from afar, and I think it is very, very correct. Savanier is the player I fear the most, but with his suspension against us I will say Mavididi.
Where will the MHSC finish at the end of the season?
I think Montpellier will be around 7-10th place. Without Europe unfortunately.
A memory in particular of a Montpellier-Monaco?
The 6-2 of 2016 is the most beautiful memory that I could have of the confrontations of our 2 clubs.
A prognosis?
3-1 for Monaco!
