Vaccination center: Advice for young women
Coronavirus
From now on, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and women who want to have children can get advice and vaccinations every Thursday between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Impfzentrum Innsbruck. The offer is aimed at those who want in-depth specialist advice, the state said on Wednesday.
Health Minister Annette Leja (ÖVP) once again reminded that the vaccination significantly reduced the risk of severe CoV disease.
Experts also advise pregnant women to be vaccinated
Therefore, not only pregnant women – who are part of the risk group due to a greater probability of intensive medical treatment and the risk of premature birth – but everyone should be vaccinated. “After all, in 2021 around one in 20 people in Tyrol who tested positive were in the hospital and one in 100 people who tested positive were in the intensive care unit,” explained Leja.
Advice in several languages
Consultations should increase the vaccination rate. In addition to the offer for women, the Austrian Integration Fund offers advice in Arabic, Russian or Turkish on individual days in Innsbruck’s Lieberstraße. The respective dates can be found below Tirolvaccinated/Locations.
Children hospitalized because of coronavirus
The country once again referred to numerous ways to get vaccinated. By the end of January, there were still 40,000 vaccination appointments that could be booked via www.tirolimpft.at, for children there were still 2,200 as of Wednesday.
As of Wednesday, around 11,400 children aged five to eleven years have already had at least a first partial vaccination against the corona virus. Around 32,600 young people between the ages of twelve and 18 had already received both vaccinations. “Vaccination in children and adolescents is safe and effective,” emphasized Health Director Theresa Geley. They too can become seriously ill.
In 2020, 40 children were hospitalized for Corona in Austria, which corresponds to about one percent of all children who tested positive, the country informed.
1.44 million vaccinations in Tyrol
To date, around 1.44 million vaccinations have been granted in Tyrol, including 560,000 first and 529,000 second vaccinations. 348,000 third-party vaccinations were booked. The vaccination coverage in the federal state was currently 70.4 percent.
