Result Proposition of the day: The cultural sector in the Netherlands needs to make itself heard. ‘Too nice? Say too good’
73 percent agree with the Statement of the Day: The culture sector in the Netherlands is too good. “The cultural sector should not take too much, but take a big step forward. That can be a well-thought-out plan.”
“They will have to open, just like the catering industry,” is one of the reactions. “Because they are partly dependent on subsidies, they are more cautious. A government should not make the grant conditional on the stance of any agencies.”
And other actions from the sector are also expected. “Many more (playful) actions and (outdoor) performances to draw attention to the importance of culture. Suddenly thinks of the Beatles going to have their rooftop performance.” And another response: “Too good? Feel free to say too much!”
According to a number of voters, the main problem is that politicians in the Netherlands do not take culture seriously. This is how someone reacts: , The museums and theaters literally do everything by the book. Keeping distance is possible, wearing a mouth cap and fixed seats. And where everything can and goes by the book, the most are screwed up. The message from our cabinet is: if you follow the rules properly, we will not take you seriously.”
“If my neighbor steals…”
Those who do not agree with the tribe indicate that they are happy that this sector is still taking the measures seriously. “I understand the question, but if my neighbor steals, I’m really not going to steal,” is one of the reactions. Another says: “Should they start rioting too? It’s never right. Someone suddenly follows the rules and then they are suddenly too good. I think they’re just slim and sensible.”
