A 25-year-old young woman was transported to the emergency room of Purpan hospital “in absolute urgency” on the night of Friday to Saturday, in Toulouse. This young woman, victim of a bad fall after hitting a car, still finds herself in a coma on Saturday January 15 at the end of the day. During the night, the firefighters received an alert call just before 3 a.m. after an accident which occurred on rue de Metz, near Place Esquirol, in the heart of Toulouse.

The victim was traveling on a bicycle when she was hit by a car whose driver, according to the first elements of the police investigation, was reversing. Firefighters and a medical team from Smur 31 took care of this young woman. She was medicalized on the spot before being evacuated to the emergency room of the Purpan hospital where she was admitted to the shock treatment room. His vital prognosis was engaged. Yesterday the prognosis of the doctors remained reserved because of the importance of the cranial traumatism from which the victim suffers.

The driver of the car involved in the accident, a VTC driver, was heard by the investigators on duty at urban security. The police carried out investigations to understand the circumstances of this accident with dramatic consequences.

According to the driver, a 50-year-old man, he stopped to park his vehicle on rue de Metz and when he engaged reverse gear, the cyclist hit him. Controls for alcohol and narcotics consumption proved negative for this professional driver who was released after his hearings. Verifications were also carried out using video surveillance images of the city.

This week, a 20-year-old rugby player died on Tuesday evening while riding a scooter. He was hit by a driver on avenue Jules-Julien in Toulouse and killed instantly. And on Wednesday afternoon, a 17-year-old girl was knocked down by the driver of a car in the Pradettes district of Toulouse. Hospitalized, she suffered very serious injuries.
